St Michael's celebrated Mrs Maka's retirement by putting on a wonderful showcase of the children's talent. Every grade gave a performance that was outstanding. They took Mrs Maka on a journey through the years of music that was part of her life during the last 40 years. The scripts and the changes to the words of the songs made it very meaningful for her and the dancing was fabulous. The Choir and the Band also performed and were just amazing. Everyone who visits St Michael's acknowledges that our children are so well mannered and welcoming. Mrs Maka's children & grandchildren, the Deputy Executive Director of Catholic Schools Diocese of Parramatta and two of Mrs Maka's Principal colleagues who joined us for the farewell concert were totally amazed by the children’s talent, their behaviour and their welcome to the special visitors. What a fabulous send off St Michael's, we are so very proud of you all 🥰 Farewell Mrs Maka and God Bless you always

On Tuesday the 5th of September, our St Michael's netball teams travelled to Penrith for the Netball Gala Day. What a wonderful day it was, with three St Michael's teams taking out first place in their age division! The best part of the day was the amazing sportsmanship shown by our teams and the encouragement they gave each other. Thank you so much to all of the parents and carers who put their time and skills into training sessions, coaching and umpiring on the day. 🤩

What an amazing opportunity our students had. Mrs Maka and Mrs Fleming accompanied 8 students to Lunch With the Stars at Dee Why. 20 renowned authors and illustrators were in attendance. Two guest speakers spoke, Wai Chi and Mike Barry. Wai Chi spoke about her books and how she was inspired by her experience on Australian Survivor to write her latest picture book 'Last Place Lin' and Mike Barry showed the audience how he creates the images for his Action Tank graphic novels. At lunchtime, the students got to meet all the authors. A big thank you to Heritage Bank for sponsoring our table and Jean Saxby who was the lovely author that was seated at our table. Mrs Fleming was especially pleased to take an armful of signed books back to the library. #HeritageBank

Congratulations to Alanah Daher for being selected for the MacKillop Girls Football team. Alanah played at the NSWPSSA Championships where her team finished 3rd. Whilst there, she also participated in an Inclusive Sports Program that ran in conjunction with the carnival. It gave students the opportunity to participate in inclusive sports such as blind soccer and walking frame soccer as well as interacting with and supporting disability athletes. Players and parents positively commented on the success of the carnival and the all-abilities program. Well Done, Alanah! 👏👏👏 ⚽️
