‘Get Moving’ was the theme for St Michael’s annual ‘a-thon’ event held on Tuesday September 4 2018. This year we focussed on the healthy benefits of ‘getting moving’ and its influence on the learning and development of children.
Our school was registered for National Health & Physical Education Day which was on September 5.
Health & Physical Education (HPE) Day is a nationwide initiative that highlights the importance of HPE in the Australian Curriculum, and its influence on the learning and development of children.
Most children’s waking hours are spent sitting at school and at home, so it’s important to get them to be more active as part of everyday life.
The rain held off (nobody would have complained about rain!) and all planned grade activities were able to take place. The school was filled with the sounds of fun and frivolity as students and teachers engaged in energetic games. Everyone got moving!
Thank you to our families for your generous support of our ‘Move-a-thon’ day. A total of $15,948.95 has been raised so far to go towards the literacy and technology resources for teaching and learning.

Faith in Action ๐คโจ Yesterday, our staff stepped away from the classroom and into a day centred on what it truly means to live our mission. ๐ We began by celebrating Parish Mass before spending time with the wonderful residents at MacKillop House, sharing conversations, smiles and plenty of joy. ๐ก๐ Back at school, our staff rolled up their sleeves to pack essential items for Jesuit Social Services and prepare sandwiches for the Vinnies Van, putting faith into action through service to our wider community. ๐ฅช๐๏ธ We were also privileged to welcome Ana Pintos, who challenged and inspired us through her presentation, Being and Living Mercy: Godโs Mission, reminding us that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a lasting impact. โจ A meaningful day of prayer, service and reflection, as we continue striving to live out our school motto of Knowledge, Faith and Love every day. ๐๐ #StMichaelsBaulkhamHills #KnowledgeFaithLove #FaithInAction #LivingMercy #CatholicEducation #CatholicSchoolsParramatta #MissionInAction #ServingOthers #Community #VinniesVan #JesuitSocialServices #StaffDevelopment #MakingADifference #SchoolCommunity #StMichaels #PrimarySchool #BaulkhamHills #CSPD #CatholicSchool
